Southwark Legal Advice Network funding has been awarded by the Big Lottery to improve access to quality assured advice services and self help information in Southwark for people in greatest need.
The core partnership consists of:
The Network itself is open to all agencies who have an interest in the provision of advice at a strategic level. Network meetings are generally held on a quarterly basis.
Southwark Citizens Advice Bureaux Service is the lead partner, and employs a development manager and a part-time administrator to co-ordinate the work of the Legal Advice Network.
The Development Manager leads on the co-ordination of the Southwark Advice Forum, which provides training and information sharing for frontline advisers in community groups.
We also lead the Southwark Financial Inclusion forum, which brings together statutory and voluntary sector organisations, Housing Associations, the Financial Service Authority and Southwark Credit Union, to help deal with some of the financial issues that local residents face.
