Southwark Law Centre provide advice, assistance, representation and specialist support in Housing, Welfare Benefits, Employment, Immigration and Asylum Support.
We do not provide a drop in service or provide general information. Appointments are usually made via other agencies - for example, advice centres, councillors, social workers and community groups.
London Borough of Southwark ( clients who live or work in the borough). In some cases, we can advise clients from Bromley and Lewisham.
We will usually provide an interpreting service for all pre-booked appointments, where it is required. We are committed to ensuring that our service is accessible to those who need the assistance of an interpreter, in any language or BSL. We aim to ensure that all interpreting is high quality and we recognise that some clients who speak relatively good English may need additional assistance when dealing with complicated legal issues. We do not provide an interpreting service for callers to the office who do not have an appointment, and will not usually provide an interpreter for the very first appointment.
